Description
I sketched this for my best friend's birthday. It's based on the scene from Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, in which Legolas returns to Aragorn the Evenstar, which he lost falling off that cliff...Lord of the Rings belongs to New Line/Peter Jackson, etc. etc. Don't sue me...please...?

I read the comments and realize this is fan-art...But it goes, to me, beyond the movie...says so much more than just "characters"...transcends into this tumbling metaphor...that the picture is more than friends...its "reality"; real friends...
I hope that made sense...I don't know how to say it....but it is so, intensely real.

If I interpreted that correctly, then, I'm very glad it worked out that way! The intent was to convey a feeling of friendship (after all, it was a gift to my best friend), and I just thought that that scene was a great picture of our friendship.
And I hope that made sense...

Yes---that was exactly what I was trying to convey. I just was a bit unsure how to say it right. I'm glad you've cleared it up for me; that is the feeling I feel when I look at it.
Beautiful, Beautiful! Your friend is very lucky!

I always try to comment on work that moves me emotionally--even without the artist comments, it does that. The two hands, the gentle and unapologetic way they touch communicates so much--it's a beautiful piece. Very nice shading, too--lots of volume here. Nice, nice work.

Thank you. I really like your work, and hearing (or reading, rather) that from you is very encouraging. It just makes want to draw more!
