I'd say, this is cool. The lines and colors attract attenton right where it should be, obviously, and the amount of detail is good. Not sure about 'metal organic' thing, but since nobody knows what it looks like, you can paint it as you bloody well please.
The man in the back looks a bit like a satyr, though, because of the way his legs are drawn - you can't quite make out the pose he's in. This is probably bbecause the light caught him oddly,and he doesn't quite have the amount of detail to play this down. I understand this wasn't meant to be a detailed piece, but still.
Also, you might want to get the degree of shading (yes, even if there are no shadows really to fall on the guy on the right) increased to add definition to both characters, just by a touch.
Just one more thing. This is a pause, in all senses. This is a static picture. What this needs is a motion element. What this 'really' needs is a story it could tell.
I mean, this is a great illustration, provided a story happens somewhere near the picture itself. In this particular concept, I think one'd kind of expect a little bit more action or detail on the well-lit side of the frame. Or maybe just some action hinted at, that just took place or is going to take place in a second.
As far as I can see, most your concepts are like that, they could go either way. Even when missiles are flying, it's not a story, it's just... well, missiles flying. I apologize for not explaining my point near as eloquently as it probably should be explained, but I hope you understand what I am talking about.
As a suggestion, I could offer this -- if the pose of the character on the right was more in-movement or after-movement, or just overall more defined (pretty much anything that would signify his intent and condition), that could very well be it. As it is, there's just two guys staring at each other, standing still. Even a hand raised in some kind of a sign by either one of them could probably take the illustration to the next level.
