wow I am incredibly late with thisThis episode is another one of the most relatable episodes ever, and to me, those kind of episodes are the best. I'm still going through what Sunburst and Starlight are going through, and I know exactly how they feel. I love Starlight and Sunburst, but I have to say, Sunburst stole the show for me.
But I do have a question. Where's Sunburt's dad? We saw him in the season 5 finale, and again in the season 6 premiere (they were both in the exact same flashback, so would that really count as twice?) Heck, where's Starlight's mom? I just might make up a design later
Despite that, great episode for Starburst!

Given the fact that Starlight was basically a latch-key kid, which meant that her parent(s) basically didn't spend much of any time with her (which would explain a lot) I think Starlight might just have had her dad growing up. Sunburst's dad? Eh, either split up or probably off doing his own job wasn't in town at the time. Also yeah, this was a great episode.Β

Ooh! New theory! Sunburst's dad and Starlight's Mom didn't appear because they're dead! That's what happened to AJ's parents, right? They weren't featured for many episodes, so they're canonically dead!

I was wondering that too. Maybe Starlightβs parents divorced, (is that even a thing in Equestria?), and thatβs why she used to be so emo and hated the world.
