Or at least what it was supposed to be... I don't like this picture to be honest. When I painted it I thought that I definitely need more practice. When I painted the one with a Sylvan elf I thought that I should definitely kill myself. On the spot.I'm aware of the anothomical errors so don't bug me about it. I'm mot even sure why I'm posting this.
The only thing that was fun about painting this were his hair. And I hate painting skin.
It's not the newest painting but when I tried to check when it was painted I noticed that it hasn't got a date nor my signature. Probably the first time I forgot about them... Anyway, this was painted few months back, probably in March or May.
What else...
Oh yeah, the guy isn't anyone in particular, just a random dark elf study from Heroes of Might and Magic V. Hope you'll like it anyway.
EDIT: Adjusted the colours a little bit. And ruined the sharpness while at it -.-'

lol, personally I don't see much wrong with it. I will admit that he lacks a certain 'darkness' that would befit his brethren, but you've still managed to attain the elegance of an elf, and I like how you did the hair in such an artful manner. The crown looks pretty cool as well.

Hmm, maybe. I think I should try again someday and make another one... Or maybe I shouldn't...
Any ideas how I should make this 'darkness' more visible or what to focus on next time?

Hmm, best idea that comes to mind is make the shape of his face more gaunt, indicating stronger cheek bones, less curvey, and thinner lips. I'd also make the eyes more piercing, more closed like there's something on their mind all the time and that they're either too good for it or feel it's beneath them, as dark elfs are typically more full of themselves. Something like that anyway. Don't know if it helps. XD

In some way yes, it did. But take into account that I wanted him to look calm and maybe a little cheerful to show that he is living in peaceful times. This is because almost all heroes from the game have rather severe look on their faces so I wanted to make a little contrast
