Description
This was another photoshop experiment, however I took WAY longer on the actual strip that needed to. Or atleast felt like, and considering the results I think a strip would of looked infinatley more proffesional had I sketched the bastard in like 3 minutes. Either way, this is a strip about the TV headed looking dude. I was thinking about the using the idea of having these people walking about as blank screens, and this one character is doing his best to kep his screen blank, while big brother transmits on everyone else. Tv programs on peoples screens resemble identity, and police can pretty much transmit onto any screen they like. I also thought it would be a cool thing to do if the main character didn't speak a word of english - even though technicaly it would be an english comic set in a sort of quasi-manga universe. The idea being that if nobody understands what the hell your going on about, you might as well talk jibberish. It then became my mission to make sure that the narrative was kept with all the other factors of the comic, and the viewer just assumes what certain words mean. The only words I would have the charcter say in english would be swear words, because in my comic universe I thought it would be cool to inverse the explicit, and show the swearwords and bleep everything else. Well sort of. This is a crap looking comic, the colours are fucking random when i put them through photoshop, and basicly work should look better than this. HOWEVER isn't it always better to produce then to think about producing whatever the results? Fuck knows. But either way i'll probably build upon this concept - which if nothing else, has been worth while.
