Hmm, why the field medic fires a mortar? Interesting.
The photo itself is awesome, of course

Augh haha. We're not medics, it's just our unit patch. In color, it's a golden cross on a black field. That guy's a cav scout.Β

Oh, allright.
How is it to compare your passion with the military routine? It`s pretty interesting for me, since I`m into the same hobby as you

My passion is my military photography, really. I love photography of all kinds but when I enjoyed it most was running around with the guys, getting down and dirty with them and telling their stories.Β

This is a lovely capture. My work is thrown into embarrassing relief by work as well composed as this.
Just out of curiosity, what does "Cavalry" in the designation of a US Army unit tell you about that unit?

Aw well thank you! It's a lot of luck, I promise you haha. I was shooting that darn mortar all day for that shot!
Cavalry are scouts. They go in ahead of the fight to get intel/find the enemy, that sort of thing, and they're often mounted in Humvees.

Patience prevailed here. It may have taken a ton of less-than-stellar photos to get this one. I'd say it was worth it though. Good stuff!

Patience and lying in a puddle for 3 rounds. Oh how they laughed at me.

So well-timed and in such focus, you must've waited there and/or taken many photos to get this 'double-shot.' Thank you.
