I think this scenario would be better if Mileena refused to kill Kitana, broke free of her evil father’s influence and the two sisters took him on. Liu Kang and Sindel are welcome to join the smack down to, of course.

I wish, but it is very unlikely that Mileena would get rid of evil, since independently of Shao Kahn ... she's already evil by herself.
Though it would be awesome that Kitana's ending at MK9 was canon ... the adult powerpuff girls- I mean Kitana, Mileena and Jade united to free Outworld and Edenia.

I personally think Mileena would be able to shake or at least suppress her darker instincts if some compassion got thrown her way, the one thing she’s been missing really.

And yeah that ending was cool.

It’s weird, they’ve been insisting Kitana despises Mileena seemingly just for existing since like....MK Gold, yet it never really felt in character for Kitana. Sure, I think she’d distance herself from Mileena upon first learning she was a clone, be a little afraid. On one hand it makes sense, being cloned by some assholes is kind of a massive violation of privacy. But I think eventually she’d process that Mileena is a person to and want to convince her sister that she doesn’t need Shao Kahn. From there things can go in two directions: Mileena can join the good guys, or she can remain loyal to Kahn (at least for a while) and the rivalry between the two is born more of a disappointment each has with the other, Kitana regretful that her sister continues to serve Shao Kahn (not to mention assholes like Onaga and Shinnok), while Mileena feels betrayed by her sister.

But no, let’s make Kitana a personality-less zombie, kill Mileena, and then reboot everything.

Oh, what’s that? There was potential for the sisters to reconcile in the original timeline? Wellll, can’t do that anymore because NRS fucking erased it all by killing everyone and crowning Shao Kahn the victor of the Battle of Armageddon even though it should obviously be Taven who gets he god powers.

Tbh I would be okay with Mileena having a mindset like "hmm ya know whenever I was sad and miserable it somehow involved Kitana. My solution have nothing to do with Kitana"

She could focus on having her own family and friends with the rest of flesh pit creations and maybe some outworlders. Become empress of Outworld thus attracting Kitana's attention making her curious on Mileena's change in personality.

Mileena can still want to have nothing to do with her but overtime the two could make peace MKX Sub Zero and Scorpion style and rule Edenia and Outworld respectively.

I think that would make for an interesting arc. Just her avoiding anything to do with Kitana and making her own life outside of her ya know.

Thank you. To me this seems a lot more organic ya know cause in real life you tend to distance yourself from people that make you miserable or at least is the source of your misery.

I get that, the point I was trying to make is that to me it’s out of character for Kitana to so throughly reject Mileena, given how kind and compassionate she is otherwise. There would likely still be friction between the two, but outright hatred of one another seems illogical to me.

Oh yeah definitely, Kitana is very compassionate I get the feeling Mileena would be a little cautious of her attempts. It would just take a lot effort on both their parts to mend things between them. Let's hope someone at NRS gets this idea because here's good material for a character chapter.

We'll have to wait and see. Pretty sure we got 4 years until the next MK game comes out. Maybe by then they would've hired better writers. But only time will tell.

Let me rephrase. I have zero faith in NRS period. All final respites of hope and respect I had for them were destroyed when they turned Sindel into that monster.

A small part of my hopes you’re right, but a larger part has a bad feeling they’ll fuck it up. Again.
