Yep, originally Saban planned on adapting Choudenshi Bioman first and just calling it "Bioman".
According to a press folder by Saban International, not only was that versions Peebo going to be called Alpha-5, but it also had characters whom would serve as the prototypes for MMPR's main cast (although they were played by completely different actors). Victor Lee, Zach Taylor, Kimberly Hart, Billy Cranston and Trini Krystal.
