I watched the Guyver anime and I'm not sure what happened with "ogon bat."

two characters are suspiciously similar in design to two SU characters but so far there's no official word that the SU characters was inspired by the ogon bat characters. seeing the series is full of real world and fictional homages, it's curious as to why there's no confirmation of ogon bat being an inspiration or just really freaky coincidence.

Really? I thought it was because of how intimate the merger between Guyver Unit and host is compared to Gem Fusion.

a human bonding with a guyver is a stretch with the fusion thing.
guyver-1 fusing with aptom omega blast however is not.
kabral khan's draglord form can be seen as homeworld's forced fusion experiments (cluster level? probably)

"guyver-1 fusing with aptom omega blast however is not." Not what exactly? Not Intimate? Also I just finished reading up on Kabral Khan on the Guyver Wiki, and his Draglord form requirements sound like something out of the Prototype game series, you know the one with super-mutant virus that lets it's host eat people and shapeshift into crazy cool yet gruesome looking stuff.

guyver + aptom is NOT a stretch (meaning it is a fusion in the SU sense). the guyver + human host is very different from fusion as defined by SU (for one they can't defuse on purpose and the partnership is like parasitic/symbiotic)
not familiar with the prototype games but yes, that's an accurate comparison.

Ah yes that little quirk where the Guyver Units refuse to seperate from their respective
hosts, unless compelled by a remover device. Almost forgot about that, also I wish
they'd continue the animation from where they introduced Guyver Gigantic, dont you?

that and the units don't have a choice of their own once activated (you can purposely or accidentally open the unit but the unit can't choose to bond or not)
maybe they're waiting for everything to be finished before proceeding?
also sucks that mangafox's hosting of the manga have errors (late chapters are rehosting of the old ones) so i skipped some (but not by choice)
