It’s been a while since the cousins had heard from their friend. Mettaton wasn’t worried, Napstablook, though...

He was very concerned for his friend.

The two had known their friend for a while. Mettaton had met her around the time he had met Alphys, (name) being a ghost like him, having lived in Hotland where she helped Alphys with her studies.

When Alphys offered to make Mettaton a body, (name) encourage him, saying that Alphys was also making one for her.

Of course he agreed, and Alphys built bodies for the two. Their bodies were similar in style when they were in their EX forms, though (name’s) body was (colour) instead of pink, her body looking more feminine.

When Mettaton left, (name) had moved to Snowdin, preferring to stay in her EX form unlike Mettaton. She kept in touch with Alphys, going back to the lab every now and then for tune-ups and adjustments.

Though unlike Mettaton, she preferred peace over the admiration of fans, keeping herself hidden when she went out, often wearing a cloak to hide her metallic form.

When Frisk came through Snowdin, she just fell in love with the eight year old, deciding to escort them safely through Waterfall, despite the fact that Undyne had been trying to kill them during that time.

It is then she met Napstablook after falling onto a bed of golden flowers, Napstablook unknowingly saving them from Mad Dummy. (name) and Frisk hung out with Napstablook after that, then left to go to Hotland.

Once Frisk was safely in Hotland, and (name) knew Alphys would look after them, she went back to Napstablook, just spending time with him.

Mettaton found them after the barrier had been destroyed, apologizing and offering them a job, to which they agreed.

They had joined Mettaton on the surface, helping him with his career, the three becoming quite famous. (name) had managed to convince Napstablook to let Alphys build a body for him, helping him get adjusted to his new corporeal form.

Napstablook sighs, staring out the window as he wonders what’s happened to his friend. Mettaton frowns at the sight of his cousin, switching to his EX form. He thinks for a moment, soon giving a grin. “Oh Blooky~”

Napstablook looks to his cousin. “Yes, Metton...?”

Mettaton smiles, walking over to his cousin. “You know there’s a darling little jazz club just down the street! We should go to it, it might help brighten your mood.”

Napstablook shakes his head. “No Mettaton...”

“Blooky.”

“Mettaton nooooooo...”

“C’mon, it’ll be fun~”

“Mettaton we talked about this...”

Mettaton managed to get Napstablook to agree after much arguing, the two making their way to the club.

The white haired bot takes the time to think.

(name) never usually went anywhere without letting him or Mettaton know, and she usually told the two everything that was on her mind. So why the sudden silence?

“Oh, we’re here!”

Nasptablook blinks at Mettaton’s voice, not expecting to arrive so soon. They enter the club. He could see a few people and monsters scattered here and there, a jazz band up on the stage playing music.

Mettaton leads Napstablook over to a table, the two sitting down. “See? It’s nice here!~”

Napstablook shrugs his shoulders. “I guess...”

It’s not long before a few fans recognize Mettaton and drag him away from Napstablook.

Napstablook sighs, leaning back in his chair.

Today was a human holiday.

Valentine’s Day.

He had been hoping to spend it with (name), even maybe being her valentine.

Guess that wasn’t happening.

“Hey, we’ve got a special treat for you today! Get ready for some fun!”

Napstablook blinks, looking to the band. What he expected was a jazz singer to come sing with the band.

What he did not expect was for (name) to walk out to the mic from back stage wearing a fedora and trench coat.

(name) grins, grabbing the mic. “Hey everyone, havin’ fun?” She laughs as cheers ring out. “Good! I got a special song for ya today!” Her eyes land on Napstablook. She smiles, giving a wink, making the shy bot blush lightly. “This song’s for a special friend of mine!”

Looking to the band, she nods, tapping her foot in a rhythmic beat. The band nods, starting the song as they follow her lead.

“Hey! Come stay a while! Let me tell you ‘bout a ghost with a lot of style.”

(name) takes the mic out of the stand, dancing along to the beat of the music. “He can be found laying on the floor for hours, and maybe he can seem a little dour. But if you ask someone then you’ll be told, how he carries around a heart of gold!”

(name) smiles, jumping off the stage. “Timid yet friendly, always super sweet, a pleasure to be among!”

She walks through the crowd. “Apologetic, feeling like garbage, even though that’s so wrong.”

She walks up to Napstablook, smiling as she holds out her hand to him. “Listening to tunes, he sits in his room, mixing all day long.”

Napstablook takes (name’s) hand, the female pulling him to his feet.

“Sitting on the web, in music forums, he shares his spooky songs!”

(name) grins as the audience claps, taking off her fedora and putting on Napstablook’s head. Nasptablook blinks, blushing lightly. “Y-y-you...”

(name) chuckles. “Sorry I-I, um... wanted it to be a surprise.” She leans up, lightly kissing Napstablook’s cheek, making his blush darken. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Napsta!”
