Listen, I know you're upset ShadowCat wasn't the protagonist of the movie, but in the other hand, she was part of the movie so that's ok. And BTW, the movie was so awesome 'cause I've seen it today, and I didn't give a f*ck It hasn't followed the entire DOFP saga.

To be fair, Shadowcat isn't played by Australian man's man, Hugh Jackman. And when given the choice between Hugh "If the bar ain'tΒ bendin, then you're justΒ pretending"Β Jackman and Ellen "I always take the time to eat well and eat locally because it's common sense" Page, movie studios will pick Jackman due to the institutional sexism that says a woman can't bear the weight of a leading role in an action movie franchise. But in all fairness, he is Hugh Jackman.

I always loved Kitty.Β I love all characters with 'one trick pony' abilities who manage to accomplish so much with smarts, tenacity, and a bit of luck.Β Excellent art!

There is always room for more Kitty Pryde. Even in all of her solo comics

I haven't seen it yet, but honestly, all of this Wolverine hype while ignoring most of the other X-Men is getting tiresome, I find. Kitty's awesome, why couldn't they have just changed up their usual stuff?

Agreed, agreed! Wolverine is cool and all, but they should focus on all of the other awesome characters as well.

I agree, especially considering the original comic book arc was all about HER going back!

Yep. Exactly! I remember hearing they were gonna do the Days of Future Past story line, and being all excited, then reading that Wolverine was going back instead. Cue overly-dramatic 'NOOOOOO!'

I guess they figured that Ellen Page couldn't carry an action movie, and Hugh Jackman has made Wolverine so iconic to the franchise (and did go back with Kitty in the comics so was a logical tie in). PLUS how did she get the power to send someone's consciousness back in time??!
Still loved the movie. But yeah...

Yep, pretty much all of the X-Men movies are about Wolverine, I guess they figured it was better to stick with him.
But yeah, that's an excellent point! Where the heck did that power come from all the sudden? Like, 'oh yeah, I phase through stuff and mess with technology and oh hey! I also send minds back in time. Just FYI.' But agreed, it was a good film, just frustrating that they changed it to Wolverine.Β

Yeah, consistency I guess.
'I totes forgot to mention it before now, my bad...' It was just little things like that, that really jarred me. Like how they spent all this time showing us with looks and hand holding how in love Bobby and Kitty were, to wrench them apart and put him with Rogue in the alternate future? And how we're supposed to believe that just because Mystique did the right thing in the end, that all the events of the first trilogy completely don't happen? So, the Pheonix didn't grow out of control and kill Scott and the Professor...just because Mystique was warm and fuzzy for ten minutes??
I really liked the movie I swear.

Right?! I sat there in the theater, thinking, 'So, wait, wait...the first trilogy just...didn't happen? Or...or has it just not happened yet?' Ugh. Time travel. I both love and hate it.
(Yes, yes, a good film. Honest. )

It is a bittersweet relationship. The possibilities! But...yeah, the destruction of canon.
