Description
I'm currently working on some character designs for a book by Jeff Donovan called Birds of May.I usually start with heads so here's what we've got thus far. I'll post more as we progress.

in this group are;
Cipher (Elf Owl - Commander-in-Chief)
Is similar to the Star Wars Yoda. He is very wise and very old.
Mitch (Crow - Captain of Defense Squad)
is a wash-up old bird who has a scarred wing and chest along with a mangled claw
and walks with a limp.
Deven (Crow – Private of the Defense Squad)
Sleeps mostly in the daytime. He dozes off to sleep when you least expect it and
wears dark motorcycle goggles because of his unique eyesight. He has baggy eyes.
Sweets (Sparrow – Secretary)
Takes her work seriously. She is a perfectionist who is so dedicated to her work she
will not relinquish her position when ill. Lack of sleep, turns her into an impatient
bird. She has a crush on Stryker.

I simply love the drawings, specially the goggles of Deven!
I also love birds, so I must say... The female sparrows are different from the male ones... You made Sweets with male plumage, female sparrows look like this [link]

Awesome! Although I must say I think the crow would possibly be better with eyes all dark. What do you think?

Thanks, likely more accurate, but client requested this type of eyes.
Also they will likely allow for more range of emotion.
...might darken the outer ring still though
