Before you say anything, yes, I know this is extremely similar to Commander Torque. This was the first design my co-author and I came up with, and our only excuse is that he's the same species as Torque. We promise the other characters' designs are much more distinct, so please bear with us. ^^"

My friend and I are huge fans of Freedom Planet and the character, Commander Torque. We decided that we wanted to come up with Torque's old crew members.
Before, you know...Brevon killed them all...Anyways, we actually plan on making a full comic series about what they were like. We’ve designed seven crew members. Again, we apologize for the unoriginal design for Torque’s captain. By the way, we’re basing the ranks off of the Navy. There’s already a commander, captain mentioned, and a non-canon lieutenant in one of P.M. Seymour’s (Torque’s VA) videos. It’s pretty funny; I suggest you check it out. Captain Velocity is the highest rank on the starship. Everyone onboard calls him Velo for short. He comes from the same planet as Torque and is the same species. (Again, the other designs will be much more unique).
Velo is daring, passionate, understanding, and selfless. He would (and did) give his life for his crew. His weaknesses include him being very anxious and self-conscious, not being strict enough as a captain, and not worrying about his own safety. His weapon of choice is a sword, strangely enough.

Other info:

-Velocity is very caring and is laid-back with his crewmates, normally allowing them to do what they want, except for inspection days or when they expect guests. During these times, he is much stricter, especially if an admiral is overseeing it.

-He loves science fiction, and that was the precise reason he wanted to be a Chaser.

-When he’s in battle, he is rather scary and not someone to be trifled with. He is the only one who can match Brevon in a sword fight, and his name is known across the Coalition because of his “battle mode”, as he calls it.

-He’s a total dork and loves , and the team plays along whenever he’s far too hyped about his shows. He also loves comics.

-Velo is patient with everyone and is insecure around outsiders. He always takes time to talk to his crewmates and tries to give advice when needed. In situations like that, he is a good role model.

-Unfortunately, because of how laid back he is with his crew, others on the ship aren’t afraid to argue with him, especially the medic and ammunitions manager. (Will be posted later) This often makes him wonder if he’s a bad leader.

-Relative to his name, Velocity has an incredibly sharp sense of direction, but is rather slow on foot without his hover boots.

-Velocity has split personality disorder and tends to obsess over things quite a bit.

Well, that’s all my co-author and I will reveal about his character for now. They don’t have a Deviantart account yet, so I’ll be doing all the posting. Keep an eye out for the next crew member, Lieutenant Commander Bowman!

P.S. The version on the left is drawn by me, and the version on the right is drawn by my co-author, Razzy. At the time, we had different ideas of what the uniform was.
