Description
I've been waiting for an official reveal of Chris Evans as Captain America for a while now just so I could have a go at drawing him in the new suit!I wanted to do this portrait in full colour, unlike my other portraits because, well, its Captain America! I always have trouble with colours as im about 70% colour blind so I have to ask friends and such if I'm on the right track!
The original image is very grainy and I wanted to capture the grain and texture as much as I could.
Well, Captain America:The First Avenger is out summer 2011, cant wait!!

Thanks! Used the photo of Captain America as reference side by side with my canvas, both in Photoshop of course. Sketched out the lineart, refined it.
All the different textures, skin, hair, straps, clothing, shield etc are all different layers. Paint it all out in blocks of greys, then pain the shading.
Then I use some special patterns of mine that make up the texture. Liquify those into the ripples and folds that i painted in the shading step. Then paint highlights over the top. Then I add the colour!
I might be doing a tutorial on it in the near future for a more comprehensive look at it so keep your eyes peeled

When I eventually get round to creating it! I dont want to rush it with a few WIP pics and a few lines of dialogue that dont really help someone put it together. Its just the time it will take to do it properly is something I dont have at the minute unfortunately.
