In the midst of setting up his canvas and getting out his paints, hours before the ceremony even begins, Violet has the chance to talk to Xiang. A smile spreads across his face and his heart swells with joy, pride, and who knows what else- as he grips his largest brush tighter in the only hand he has.

"It's such an honor to be allowed to paint your ceremony for you- to be chosen! Despite..."

His face falls for just a moment before he shakes his head and continues,
"I'm just so glad you've given me this opportunity... Do you two have any plans on where you'll put the painting- ah well..."

The next part comes out as more of a murmur, perhaps not loud enough for Xiang to even hear,
