Description
My solution of the difference between TOS and DISCO Enterprise- early history of the Constitution Class:
-2243-45: Construction of Type A (Uss Constitution, NX-1700) and Type B (Uss Enterprise, NX-1701)
-2245-50: Running and performance test, Inside-Federation-Missions, NCC classification
-2246: Production start of 12 ships at new Utopia Planitia Shipyard Complex, launch 2247
-2250: Start of the first 5-year-mission of all Type Bs
-2252: Uss Constitution missing with base crew of 150 and 45 children of Alpha Centauri
-2255: Second 5-year-mission of all Type Bs
-2258: Since massive compatibily problems of holographic systems and duotronic core
deconstruction of holosystems in all fleet ships
-2260: Massive fleet overhaul- Type B conversion to Refit-Type-A, first refit
-2260-65: third 5-year-mission of all former Type Bs, first of 4 former Type As
...
Type A: 21 decks, larger engine but lesser durability (lower cruising speed, warp 8), 430 crewmen
Type B: 17 decks, smaller, more durable engine (warp 7), 230 crewmen, more laboratories and comfort
Type A-Refit: 22 decks, reworked Mk8 engine (warp 8), 430 crewmen

The TOS Enterprise has never been my fav, I always like the Refit Enterpise more and that is one think that I like about the Discovery Enterprise she took a lot of influences from the Refit. The angled warp nacelles the saucer the shorter neck, and this may be blasphemous but I actually like the Discovery Enterprise more than the TOS. But since Discovery takes place in the TOS Era your Type A image is what the Discovery Enterprise should have looked like, and actually John Eaves actually had straight struts on his concept images but when the CGI people took over they made the angled struts for some reason. The Type A would have still had the unique Discovery look that they were going for, but had a lot of call backs to what the TOS Enterprise would eventually look like.

I reworked the original Discovery model only slightly, the only mayor change is the complete rework of the windows to fit a 289 meter ship and fit into the window alignment of the later first refit. By the way: This has even In-Canon source material: Despite the later producewr informations, an in-series-display not only shows the measures of the original 289 meters Constitution Class, but also the display of the former nearly finished model with straight pylons- very similar to my Type A. It can easy be explained by the programmers mistaking the Enterprise for a Type A- since the Constitution is the first ever ship with two such versions.
