Description
So, we did a full-day pose for my painting class. I enjoyed it! It's not done and what the hell is WRONG with whatever she is on. D: It looks like gross blue saran wrap.ANYHOW, pretty pleased! Not used to paint.

I only use gross blue saran wrap.
How does a full-day pose work? Does this poor model ever get to eat? I am reporting you!
I really like this one! It feels very Impressionist-y to me. Which is a very technical art term.

Oh honey, you don't even know--going to art school is like being in a constant daze of people name-dropping Artistic Periods and artists' names. Very confusing for those of us with no background in art history.
YES we let her eat a slice of untoasted bread and a glass of water once in the course of the pose. IT'S PLENTY OF NUTRIENTS. YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE.

I went to this week long camp-kinda deal at a local art college this summer, and all of us were just like "WTF ARE THESE TEACHERS TALKING ABOUT?" And just said that everything we thought was shit or that we didn't actually put any effort into was "expressive". I still am really tempted to use it in every-day speech, like when I write something that's shit:
"Fuck you, teacher, I'm being expressive!"

I hate to say it, but that's really what my current school is like. It's extremely conceptually based, which sort of lends itself to lack of criticism, since people who put no effort into the project can just go "IT'S ABOUT MY CHILDHOOD" and everyone has to go "oh, okay." It bugs me when we're doing critiques and people feel like that can't possibly be critical because everyone is, as you say, expressive. XD Rrrrr.
