Description I feel like I have to retake pictures of EVERYTHING I UPLOAD. It isn't my fault I only have my cell phone as a camera....Oh wait, yeah it is.

Anyhow, this is my final for Research Studio, fall 2010. The prompt was: What do you believe? My response was: Schroedinger's cat is simultaneously alive and dead. Then I was supposed to prove my belief. In true physics-dork form, my retort to that was: Nothing can be proven, and there are only the suggestions of forms and existence, nothing stable and predictable.

Hence, this painting. I know you can't tell, and I'll maybe put some details in scraps, but the larger canvas literally has a hole in the middle of it, behind which I attached a little cup of blackened canvas to create the illusion of depth and space and absence without just seeing...wall.

I'm done with this class now! Yippee!

Brilliant brilliant. Love the idea of it.

Shroedinger's cat had three different states simultaneously, the alive state, the dead state, and the both alive and dead. That was the cat's superposition of three different wavefunction equations. Once the lid was opened, the wavefunction collapsed onto one single dimensional decision. You should express the three different superpositions in your next painting, PLEASE?

Thank you! Like I mentioned in the description, I've never done abstract art for display before, so it was a little nerve-wracking! I had to make sure they were well-thought out, for sure.

exactly, "well-thought out" - always make sure it is, my friend.
