It's to raise awareness about the culling of wolves thats deminishing the worlds wolf population.

Also, the wolves aren't endangered everywhere. Especially not in places like Alaska, where their increased numbers have become a problem.

ususally wolves will only hunt livestock if there is hardly anything else in the area to hunt, and it is there instinct, so there!

And there is usually only little else in the area because wolves have over-hunted their own prey, because there are too many wolves and not enough prey. So, kill a percentage of the wolves in an overpopulated area, and there is enough food to go around.

Not any more cruel than how they hunt, not anymore cruel than what goes down in our slaughter houses. No, you know what is cruel? Allowing wolves to become so overpopulated that they suffer from starvation and lack of prey. It's also cruel to allow wolves to drive their prey species to the point that their birth rates are dropping because of the wolves stressing them out so much.

Try telling that to Candice Berner, or local ranchers who are having problems with wolves killing their livestock.
Only you'll have a hard time contacting Candice, she was killed by wolves. And before you try and say it was her fault, she was just going for a jog, she wasn't aiming to disturb wolves or harm them in any way. That didn't stop them from seeing her as an easy meal.
And hey, elk never do any wrong to wolves (most likely) yet wolves hunt and kill them all the time.
