Description
In the year 4420 a colonial starship lost control during atmospheric entry because the crew was killed by some smuggled snakes escaped from the cargo bay, and crashed on the uninhabited terraformed planet where it was supposed to land. The event was later fictionalized in a movie titled "Snakes on a starship" (Released in 4445 once the tragedy was known on Earth)

Anyway, every human and livestock on board died in the crash but some of the snakes survived along with a number of stowaway rodents and invertebrates.
70 million years after that snakes have filled many ecological niches and habitats, including the sea. This particular fishsnake uses modified ribs as fins and spends most of its time near the bottom hunting small prey, surfacing only to breathe.
