Description
Update (Dec 2022): You can find a Ruffle -emulated version at mandelbrot.liglig.art---
Just felt a little short of things to do and decided I needed a little bit of practice with my Flash skills.
So, presenting the Flash Mandelbrot Generator!
While Flash is not the ideal program for this kinda number crunching (don't try and make wallpapers using this kids!), it does well enough job to see some basic fractals in action.
If I find some more time I might continue tinkering with this and possibly add some different fractals.

Can you make the program more interactive so that users can click on the dots in the flash and the whole thing reiterates again? Its similar to something I saw sometime ago using the same concept but in Excel. Interesting.

I like it really much, but one question, what code do you use to zoom in?
I created a fractal, but I can't figure out how to zoom in!

Sweet!
Can you make a version we can download and mess with as a stand-alone program?

As in off DeviantArt? You should be able to just click download to be able to save the SWF file to your computer.
If that doesn't work I can save it as a zip file for you to download or even as a packed exe file . Let me know how you go.

Got the zip. Thanks! The download on DA wasn't letting me save it at all.

Thanks! It was just a little bit of of practice to see if I could do something neat with ActionScript - and I got this!
I've always found Fractals neat - the idea that some very simple formula can give an infinitely deep image!

It's what happens after a semester of too many Maths classes!
Uhhh... I'll just call it a pretty picture maker and be done with it.
Thanks~

*grin* Thanks. Fractals are a lot of fun to play with, so I thought it'd be a nice little project. I've done some other fractal stuff a while ago (somewhere in my dA archive) so I had some idea of what I needed to do.
It's still not perfect - it locks up the browser while it's working which is a bit of an issue, but I think I'll be able to fix that in a bit.
Thanks for the too!
