I use OpenCanvas 1.1; it's a free (really old) tool you can download here: [link] . : )
I generally do a sketch with the pen tool, and then block in colors and do refinements with the watercolor/paintbrush/the only other tool that isn't the pen tool.

Y'know, I really feel sorry for poor Lamont. I can just see him walking down the street, minding his own business, maybe on his way home completely exhausted from being out all night and in need of a good night's sleep, and all of a sudden *BAM!* A rabid fan punches him in the face with all hir glomping power packed into a fist, jizzes in hir pants, and then runs off, leaving a bewildered, bleeding Italian in hir wake.
Not to say it's not wonderful.
