Why not try your hand at an ulitharid next? Same general design, just larger and with a more squid-like tentacle array. They have eight grasping arms, and the two enormous feeding arms commonly seen on squid species. I believe the suckers on them have tiny teeth has with the giant squid as well.

Eugh! Illithid! They freak me out, creepy brain-eaters. This is excellent however, its rare to find good artwork from the "Realms"

Would have been much better if they made it look like a pallid, human corpse with alien tissues consuming it from within and a mass of tentacles and lampreylike mouth bursting out from where the lower jaw fell off.

This looks more silly than intimidating. The head looks funny like a cute anime character, I much prefer the lords of madness version as well. Also anyway to make his gear more alien? Or do they rely on native races for clothes?

I think this one is perfect as-is. This tells me they are an advanced race that is beyond the barbarous routines of other more physical races. No, these would definitely only such the brains of the most tasty of those.

Hmmm bit neutral about this, I guess it doesn't look particularly gruesome as it should lurking in the shadows nor a master manipulator. Rather too much like an extra wondered off from the set of Star Wars.

Not quite as vicious looking as I'd normally envision them (3.5's Lords of Madness is one of my favorite source books). Now, if they were made to be a playable race, that would be awesome, but because of their connections to the Far Realms, I think they would look a lot more aggressive and/or gritty.
