Description
This design and ref are outdated. I will be making a new design in due time!----
(Big file might take a bit to download)
After 3 hours of cleaning up a sketch and another 2 1/2 hours coloring and typing they are finally done.
Enjoy! <3
More info:
Coloration - Blade Striders don't come in a big variety of colors or markings like Dominatri do. Most common coloring would be like the one you see above. Gray with a lighter underbelly and neck. Sometimes they can be a light base and a dark underbelly or just black and gray, but the whole thing for these guys is for them to look scary and unwelcoming. Not for them to look bright and happy, lol.
Markings - They don't come with a lot of different markings either. Most of the time they have none but, in occasions they can be seen with blotchy patches or stripes (not a whole lot though).
*Side note* Blade Striders can be albino.
Behavior - Like I just said they are meant to be scary and unwelcoming, they behave in a manner like a dog trained to kill and nothing else. They are very hostile, if they see another creature they will often charge at them without question. Not necessarily attacking them though.
You probably wouldn't see a bunch of Blade Striders just hanging around together, sometimes brothers and sisters will stay together and a mother and her young, although the young are sent off after a year of staying with their mother unlike Dominatri.
Hunting behavior - Blade Striders have it easy when it comes to hunting. Using their size and strength it's pretty darn easy for them to take down anything really. Sometimes they will get board of just catching prey the usual way and play with their food a little. They use the extra claws on the blades to grasp the prey animal and lift it up in the air and drop it. Either knocking it out or servery injuring it. They will do this for sometime and then finally decide to eat the mangled mess of meat. Disgusting really, lol.
Male and Female difference - Sometimes it is hard to tell males and females apart because males do not possess a pair of horns like Dominatri. The only way to tell them apart is by size. The males larger than females but that doesn't mean females can be larger than usual and males smaller than usual.
Communication - Just like Dominatri and Whipping horses, Blade Striders use echolocation. Sending clicks off into the distance then waiting for the vibrations to come back and hit their acoustic jelly pads (the things on the side of the head) for the information to come back to the brain.
They also use clicks and groans to communicate in a talking manner, like dolphins and whales. Dominatri, Whipping horses and Sky Striders use the same method but they cannot fully understand each other very well.
Extra info - It's not rare to see Blade Striders scarred up along their body, especially males. On any Strider you will see the most scars on their snout from the struggling prey trying to avoid being eaten as they claw and bite at their head.

While the design is amazing, you should consider purchasing a dictionary. They help your writing/character bios appear professional. I love the shape of the skull the most, it adds a sense of menace. Great creature overall

I'm curious! Are all the creatures on the Dominatri without eyes?
This is super neat I especially dig the wings and face!

Well I've been thinking about adding a few creatures with eyes to even things out but my whole intention was to create a world filled with beings with no eyes and their only source of seeing would be echolocation, as I find echolocation to be pretty interesting. Lol I hope I gave a good answer
And thank you very much! c:

Oh man that's great, it makes me wonder how well they see in big open spaces.. I can't imagine very well... unless it's like super-echolocation?
I've got a species that sees by vibrations in he ground, the can't really see via echolocation, but when things move they can sort of "see" it. Not too well, mind you, but their sense of smell and hearing is super heightened. Poor things.

You would probably be correct, although I haven't giving much thought about how well their echolocation works but I'd say it would have to be pretty darn good if you lacked eyes and all you had was echolocation as a source of seeing, lol. So they would probably use some sort of super echolocation.
Poor fellas. ;n; Every species has its flaws. That is the best part of creating a species I think, lol

Hahah yeah XD or just be blind all the time. I also have Chatters, who are blind, but they are paired with servants of a type who tend to them.
