I'm very impressed by how well thefur is done, but i think you lack contrast. If you want to know what I'm talking about, turn this picture into black & white and compare it to the picture you've referenced it from. Now of course, you don't need as much contrast as the ref picture, there's something i quite like about low contrast in some cases, but a little more will only make it better.
