Shade fireteams in ArkTech history are unlike spies or so called shadow squads in other organizations or governments. Unlike spies, ArkTech Shade fireteams thrive in combat zones, scouts if you will. Shade fireteams usually consist of up to three people and originated during the Battle of New Prospect when ArkTech PMC's needed to manually tell mortar crews where to target. Said Mortars were captured from the invading terrorist army. The original Shade fireteam consisted of two Russian veterans and a French GIGN retiree whom had volunteered to be field spotters for the mortar crew.

Unlike spies, the fireteam would use the surrounding carnage from friendlies to zip past enemies and target important objectives for the crews. Shade fireteams were not used in large numbers since then until the year 2139 during the largest PMC held siege in history. Supported by the UN due to the necessity of the siege, ArkTech MSU would take off of Chinese aircraft carriers commissioned from the UN by both landing boats and A.I. controlled VTOL. The landing boats would hit the coastline first and the MSU would attach their experimental bullet resistant shields to amphibious APC's which where used as cover on the Indonesian beach. Chinese mortar crews would circle around from the other side of the stronghold and take positions as ArkTech Shade fireteams would keep moving and provide protection to the crews and target Anti Aircraft Cannons for said crews to fire upon and destroy so the transport VTOL's could move in.

The 22nd Century UN called the siege to be a chance for ArkTech to prove themselves again to the general public by eliminating a corrupt organization off the face of the Earth. From data recovery by the O.E.D. after returning to Old Earth, the truth was much bigger than that. The siege would be planned by former U.S. general Issac Pike who was then temporarily working for ArkTech before ultimately retiring from work all together. The siege, while extremely destructive, was an absolute success with minimal casualties on our side considering the size of it. After the siege, Shade fireteams went extinct until ArkTech became a government and started getting into more bigger scale conflicts. The Cycosian War paved the way for Shade fireteams to become an official part of the MSU as a whole.
