CONNECTED ART STARS FOR 2020. Artists to keep your eyes on this year. From USA....
Name: Prefer not to say (Just AmarthGul)
Location: Ohio, US
Occupation: Student
Website:  www.deviantart.com/amarthgul

When and how did you get started in art?
Around 10-year-old, becoming a mentee of a pro artist.

What was your first creation that made you know you had talent?
I didn’t, and I still don’t think I’m talented. It’s just time and practice.

What artists have inspired you?
Vitaly Bulgarov, Jennifer Wuestling, Huang Guangjian, to name a few.

What characters are you planning for the future and type of character are you drawn to?
Since I just want to try different things, there’s really not much of an archetype that appeals to me. I just do what comes to mind or what seems interesting and challenging.

What are you listening to?
A lot. Depending on what I’m doing, could be nightcore, synthwave, anime OPs, movie OST or classics.

Favorite Movies?
Probably Pacific Rim.

Favorite Animes?
Hard to say. Possibly Youjo Senki, since she is kind of the villain in the show and she won.

Favorite TV Shows?
For now, Planet Earth II, if that counts.
Or the Blude Planet.

Is there a scene from a anime, cartoon, movie or tv show that left a big impression on you and what was it?
This updates with time. The most recent one is the Blood Eagle from Midsommar. Opened a new gate for me.

Books?
Cormen, H. Thomas, Leiserson, E. Charles, et al. Introduction to Algorithms, 3rd edition. The MIT Press, 2009. It’s the course recommendation and a great book to help with sleep.

Games?
Gris and Diablo III.

Beverage?
Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla Zero Sugar

Fast Food/ Junk Food of choice?
The Wendy’s.

Candy bar?
Nah I don’t like candy bar at all.

Favorite Breakfast cereal?
I gave up cereal years ago. It’s bacon, egg and bagel now.

What was your favorite toy growing up?
Gundam kits, had tons of them.

Who is your biggest character crush and why?
That’s hard…
Tanya von Degurechaff if mental gender doesn’t matter. She kills without mercy and is an act utilitarian.
Or Kallen Stadtfeld from Code Geass.

You enter a warehouse. There is little light, but you are able to find your way around. The sound of music draws you to a corner of the warehouse. There are FIVE GHOUL CLOWNS, playing a dancing video game. They have razor sharp teeth and scary weapons. Magic can not affect them; they sense your presence and turn facing you. They run to you to attack. Time to fight! What character would you want to be to defeat them and how would you handle the situation?
Kokushibo from Demon Slayer. Pathetic clowns.

If you had to be chained with a character for one year, what would be the character and what would you do?
That sounds like a fetish. Not sure how this chain works but I’ll probably pick T-800. It’s either a quick death or a guaranteed safety without feeling embarrassed.

You can have dinner with your favorite character. And at this dinner you may ask one question. Who would be the character and what would be your one question?
Literally could not think of anyone I want to have dinner with or ask question…
Maybe Gendo Ikari, “Are you happy?”

What's number 1 on your bucket list? (Something you want to do before you leave the planet).
Funny, because the thing I wanted the most is to leave this planet.

What advice would you give to people getting started in art
Well I’m at no position of giving advices.
But… “Remember when you’re 7 or 10 and feel like your parents’ advices are obsolete and does not fit you? Only to find out that there are things that does not change over generations, and you could have saved a lot of time and effort if listened to them… Well, art is the same, listen to the pros, and practice the fundamentals.”
