When and how did you get started in Cosplay?
I started getting into cosplay in middle school, when my uncle took me to my first nerd/geek convention. Dragon Con in 2008 I think! That was when I was introduced to the world of cosplaying. I did not cosplay until Anime Weekend Atlanta in 2012.
What was your first Cosplay?
My first cosplay made from duct tape and thrift store clothes was Lucy Heartfilia from an anime called Fairy Tail. I did it with a group of my school friends back in high school.
What was the most difficult character?
The most difficult character that I have ever made is Mercy from Overwatch, in her halloween skin.
What characters are you planning and type of character are you drawn to?
Some of my upcoming cosplays are Lucky Chloe from Tekken 7 and Todoroki Shoto from Boku No Hero Academia. I am mostly drawn to characters from games, less of anime, and they would have to be cute! Haha. I also am very drawn to characters that have intricate designs. But, what determines the decision of cosplaying it depends on its estimated build time because I attend school full time and work almost full time.
What is your process when starting from the beginning with a new cosplay?
First, I would have at least 10 characters on hand that I would like to cosplay. Choosing the character to cosplay highly depends on build time, and the convention that I am attending. For example, MomoCon is the con I always do my best at because I have a month of summer to build my costume and actually completing it! Compared to AWA, which is held in the middle of a school week, I’d have to lower down the intricacy of my cosplay. Next is planning, Because I build my own cosplay for the most part, I’d have to think of how I can create the costume from scratch and what is the easiest, cheapest, and fastest, but, best way to build it. Also, purchasing wigs, contacts, and any other accessories online that I’d need ASAP. ASAP as in 3 months before the con or even earlier, because it is shipping from China and problems happens too often. To make this short, I start with parts of my costumes that will take a long time to do.Then I’d do the smaller parts while I wait for the hard parts are drying or in need of other materials before I continue! I finish off with wig styling, and other necessary component to make my cosplay a little bit more accurate and detailed.
Are there any helpful hints in sewing, costume design or any other aspects of your cosplay that you discovered in doing your creations?
Honestly, hints and tips are best being youtubed or googled, that's where I learned everything. Also, by trial and error. Not everything that other people do works for you. There are a lot of ways to build cosplay, and you should definitely go with the one you can afford!! Crafting skills are important, hone your cutting, sanding and detailed work because it's what makes a cheap cosplay look professional! Cosplay is expensive at first, because everything is hard at first, but once you get your groove going, everything will be as easy as cutting fruit! Patterning is also important, I personally never measure 1:1 from the character itself because they are perfect and I am not. Doing a 1:1 ratio was the first mistake I made when I built my first cosplay. Now, I eye everything and barely use any measuring tape unless I have to make a pair of the same item. I could go all day with the mistakes and discoveries I found, but I’ll leave it to everyone doing their own trial and error.
Do you have a preferred brand of makeup in your cosplay? And if so why?
I love using electric by Urban Decay for my colorful cosplays because it pops out well in pictures! I also use many other palettes, but I’m not super picky because I’m only using it for a day~
What are you listening to?
Fall into the sky by Zedd, Basic AF.
Favorite Movies? Action movies!! And I hate horror movies :’)
Favorite Animes? AH! This is a hard one, I like a lot of animes. But, Action and adventure animes are the ones I enjoy the most. *COUGH* also yuri. I love KONOSUBA!! Some other examples are fairy tail, Boku No Hero Academia, Kotetsujou No Kabaneri, Tokyo Ghoul, Reborn!, OPM. Yeah, the list goes on!

Is there a scene from a anime, cartoon, movie or tv show that left a big impression on you and what was it?
A silent voice is the latest anime that left a big impression on me. It was about a deaf and mute girl who got bullied by a classmate that later got bullied back by everyone. He then changed and started learning about sign language just to understand her. Anyhow, watch it, it made me cry so much I felt like I’ll run out of tears!!
Books? *COUGH* I hate reading, but if manga counts… One of my fav manga is My Heavenly Hockey club. It is absolutely hilarious.
Games? League of Legends! Been on it since their first season.
Beverage? Root beer, and beer. Wow am I plain or what!
Fast Food/ Junk Food of choice? Chipotle and Chick-fil-A
Candy bar? Snickers
Favorite Breakfast cereal? Reeses Puff and Frosted Flakes
Is there something not going on in the cosplay world that you would want to see or is there something you would want to change?
UHH, to be honest, I’m not super involved in the cosplay community because I like my life separate from it. So, I’m not too sure? I’d like more friendly people I guess. The cosplay world is becoming too toxic recently!
What was your favorite toy growing up?
BARBIE LOL. Kill me.
Who is your biggest character crush and why?
Rem from RE:ZERO, Also Tamamo from Fate and the overly-popular Ahri and D.VA. Did I mention I love characters that are super asian? Like kimono, girly n pink n stuff! I’d like to be girly… heh.
You enter a warehouse. There is little light, but you are able to find your way around. The sound of music draws you to a corner of the warehouse. There are FIVE GHOUL CLOWNS, playing a dancing video game. They have razor sharp teeth and scary weapons. Magic can not affect them; they sense your presence and turn facing you. They run to you to attack. Time to fight! What character would you want to be to defeat them and how would you handle the situation?
ONE PUNCH MANNNNN, I mean, can I even choose anyone else?!
If you had to be chained with a character for one year, what would be the character and what would you do?
Ahri, we would just be a korean grill all day. Seducing bois and stuff. Its lame, I know.
You can have dinner with your favorite character. And at this dinner you may ask one question. Who would be the character and what would be your one question?
D.VA I guess! I’d ask how does she stay slim eating Doritos and drinking Mt.Dew errrday?
What's number 1 on your bucket list? (Something you want to do before you leave the planet).
Travel the world.
What advice would you give to people getting started in Cosplay?
Take it slow! You live and learn, basically. Pressure from everyone may suck. You see all these senpais being beautiful and perfect in all their glory, and you’re just a potato. You may sit there wondering why you suck, but it's because you’ve probably been doing cosplay for a couple years, and they’ve been constantly doing it for years. Always do your research on your planned cosplay, look at what other people have done, see how you can make yours as good or even better! Tutorials online is god sent. Use it. Most importantly, HAVE FUN IN IT. Cheers!
