When and how did you get started in Cosplay?
My love for cosplay started from Final Fantasy X and I found amazing cosplay photos of the characters on Google. There was a book fair parade coming up in my school, so I asked my Dad to buy me this Haruhi cosplay from eBay. When I received it, it was too big for me, but I still wore it to school. People thought I was Sailor Moon. 😅
What was your first Cosplay?
Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya! 🥰
What was the most difficult character?
My most difficult character was Insane Black Rock Shooter. I got out of my comfort zone and tried new techniques that I really wanted to apply to this cosplay. It took about a year of planning and building.
What characters are you planning and type of character are you drawn to?
I’m drawn to characters who are super cool and powerful! I tend to steer away from girl characters that seem weak and useless in the show.
What is your process when starting from the beginning with a new cosplay?
I check if there’s any figurines of the character, making it easier to replicate any details that artworks and in-game models leave out. For Higanbana form Onmyoji, she didn’t have a figurine, but I played another game called Onmyoji Arena which had her in it. The character model in that game had details that the original game didn’t have. Eg, she has a flower tied at the back of her hair that’s hard to see in the original game.
Are there any helpful hints in sewing, costume design or any other aspects of your cosplay that you discovered in doing your creations?
I’m in a few Facebook groups where we help each other out with anything from sewing, props, photography, wigs, competition advice etc. It’s just great to have a community that is happy to lend a helping hand.
Do you have a preferred brand of makeup in your cosplay? And if so why?
I have a mix of Innisfree makeup products and Makeup Revolution. I love the Innisfree skincare line and their makeup products work really well for me. I was recommended to use Makeup Revolution from a good friend. Their foundation covers up everything nicely and their contour palette works for me! 😍

Is there a scene from a anime, cartoon, movie or tv show that left a big impression on you and what was it?
Hell Girl. I watched this during high school and at first I was like, ‘Yes! Send all of them to hell! We should have this in real life!’ But then there was an episode where an obsessive stalker sent this innocent nurse to hell, just so he could be with her in the afterlife. Then I thought, ‘Probably not a good idea’. Hahaha 😅

What was your favorite toy growing up?
My favorite toy was the family PC haha 😆
Who is your biggest character crush and why?
During high school, it was Cloud from Final Fantasy VII. Now, I don’t really like him that much 😅

There are FIVE GHOUL CLOWNS, playing a dancing video game. They have razor sharp teeth and scary weapons. Magic can not affect them; they sense your presence and turn facing you. They run to you to attack. Time to fight! What character would you want to be to defeat them and how would you handle the situation?
Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Just 0.01% of his power would be enough.
If you had to be chained with a character for one year, what would be the character and what would you do?
Ciel, so that I can have Sebastion as my butler.
