When and how did you get started in Cosplay?

I started cosplaying last January 2023 when I was motivated to be a cosplayer myself when I attended a convention in Manila.

What was your first Cosplay?

Yor Forger of SpyxFamily

What was the most difficult character?

So far, my hardest character to cosplay is Raiden Shogun. Aside from the complicated costume, her personality is not easy to imitate.

What characters are you planning and type of character are you drawn to?

My next cosplay which is scheduled this August is Wanwan from Mobile Legends. I'm mostly drawn to video game characters and my cosplays are always from my own feelings. I only cosplay characters that I like.

What is your process when starting from the beginning with a new cosplay?

I always start with canvassing my money. It is very important to know immediately before starting a new cosplay if I can afford it. Then, I gather my resources such as the costume, friends who will do my make up and take my photos, props, and also the venue of my shoot.

Are there any helpful hints in sewing, costume design or any other aspects of your cosplay that you discovered in doing your creations?

As a beginner, I actually don't know how to sew. However, i'm very open in learning 3D printing in making props if given the opportunity. It would be very helpful and less costly compared to when I have to buy the props that I need.

Do you have a preferred brand of makeup in your cosplay? And if so why?

I don't really have an individual brand on my makeups, but I buy my makeups from Watsons and sometimes online.

Favorite Movies?

I don't have any in particular. But I love horror movies the most.

Favorite Animes?

Fairy tail and Attack on Titan

Favorite TV Shows?

I don't like watching TV shows.

Is there a scene from an anime, cartoon, movie or tv show that left a big impression on you and what was it?

The death march of Commander Erwin and the other scouts in Attack on Titan.

Is there something not going on in the cosplay world that you would want to see or is there something you would want to change?

I want to cosplay Mobile Legend characters more. However, it is very rare to see their costumes being sold online.

Kaede Rukawa

What's number 1 on your bucket list? (Something you want to do before you leave the planet).

Cosplay Wanwan's collector skin or Miya's legend skin.

What advice would you give to people getting started in Cosplay?

Start with low-budget cosplays to give you a headstart and time to get used to it. If you are comfortable, you can now start aiming to cosplay grand characters. You must also always check your budget and resources. Lastly, cosplay is a hobby meant to give joy, not envy and stress.
