After adopting, are there any specific rules on what we can and can't do with the character (eg. if I wanted to make some tweaks to the design)? I'm considering taking the rat.

No, there aren't any rules, I just ask you to credit me just the first time you draw her, like "I adopted this from *Connection-13 " but no need to do this the other times, the moment you adopt one character from me you can do anything
