Wood Shadow, A creature for a yet another Fantasy Setting of Mine.When a Fairy, "Farai" (Wood-Spirit) Commits suicide using magic, the Fairy turns into the "Farons" Wood-Shadow.
Wood Shadows are one of the most devote followers of the Night Lord, Seeing how Suicide with magic is a taboo among Farai-kind.
Unlike other Farai, Farons are Evil, Mean, and Miserable Creatures, and they regret ever Committing the Horrible deed that made them Farons in the first place. They Live in constant pain, Their bodies are Half-way rotten, and the Suicide process leaves them without one hand, and with deformed limbs.
Like the Farai, the Faron are akin magic users, and replace their lost hand with a magical hand, Called "Hand of Night", which apart from being a replacement arm, can also be used as a melee weapon, and also to channel magic.
Farons retain only one feeling common to Farai, and that is Love. However, while Farai share their Love with the Centaurs and Satyrs, Farons Love only Vampires.
When they mate, The Faron may give a birth to a dead offspring, from which comes a Horrible Spirit called Banai, Blood Spirit.
Banai tend to take over trees, Killing them and rotting them with evil. Any Animal caught near those trees will die, or on worse cases, will turn into undead.
Why yes, I am a horrible person, why'd you ask?

It was more or less the intention, seeing how in many fantasies, Night is associated with Death, Horror,and Evil, with the Faran being the Combination of all three.
