I love lenticular clouds. They are my favorite cloud formation. Very common over mountains and other higher elevations. See them here in Montana all the time.

it is a beautiful shot, and a very great technical achievement in reguards to how crisp and clear it is. the mood feels forboding to me though, like an omen in these days where it feels as though nuclear winter is at the push of a button. this cloud in this picture reminds me of a mushroom cloud, and the black sky is menacing, but it looms over beautiful nature...so i think there is more contrast in this piece than just black vs white: its like a juxtoposition of pristine nature vs man-made destruction. lol, a picture really is worth a thousand words

I love clouds like that. I live near a moutain range too, and one day we had a HUGE cloud like this one that coverd the whole moutain.

reminds me of those posters they have in school and hang up on the wall, like theyll show a mountain climber and it would say courage anyways this one would say "Amazing"

ive seen clouds like that over mt hood, its pretty cool. i think those like weird clouds only happen over mountains cause of the air pressure and stuff... or something like that.
