Description Rick Taylor, main Protagonist of the Splatterhouse games, as seen in the 1988 Arcade game.

I used a wide variety of references, including the Arcade Flyer, the cover for the Japanese TG16 release, some SH Arcade sprites (which were very hard to find) and a piece by for more detail into muscle tone (this one, in particular; [link] ).
I didn't bother shading it, because I want to leave it open for possible coloring later.

Thanks! I looked at your picture a lot to get the muscle tone right -- there's so much you can't get from Boxart and Sprites.

Yeah not a problem and I'm glad it helped you out.
Box art and sprites do make good refs but you loose a lot of detail from them. The sprites maybe too small or the image maybe really old or in poor condition.

Not to mention Rick actually looks different on the PC Engine cover than he does on the Arcade flyer.

The sprites I managed to find were in good condition. Plus you can always zoom in on MSpaint if you really need the details.

I also found this... Marvel Comics ad for the TG16 version ([link] ) Lol.

There are some differences but if you're going to go with one of the flyers for a ref. You need to pick one. I mainly use the Arcade Flyer for a ref. and not the PC Engine art. Makes it easier and you're not have as many problems as you do when looking at two different images.

Yeah that's the good thing about some of the sprites out there. Their not distorted and they're available for anyone to use. The only thing is that they're a pain in the ass to find. And that's what I do, I save the sprites to a separate file and open them up in paint.

I've actually read that one on the West Mansion site. lol
