First and foremost, this piece magnificently displays the concept of contrapposto. Elements of abstract impressionism can be seen in many of the lines in the work due to their erratic and unpredictable nature. Negative space is used effectively, imitating eastern styles of artwork, specifically Japanese. The choice of what I'm assuming to be watercolor seems to be very appropriate, weather the decision was made consciously or subconsciously. Water has flow by nature and so to does the art of belly dancing, so it appears there is a correlation if only slight between the subject of the piece and its creator's medium of choice.

Very graceful and flowing, "just enough" detail. Reminds me of japanese or chinese calligraphy somehow--simple and elegant, but expressive and joyful.
(And I love Rachel Brice!)

wow very nice. I'm not that great at critique though....but why are her legs flesh colored while the rest of her body is white? oh well, I likes it anyways.

They were supposed to be stockings, but I didn't make it clear enough. Unfortunate. Thanks, though!

Fluid and in motion, yet perfectly motionless in time.
