Nicole Kidman in graphite, ebony jet-black pencil. 75% of the time was spent on the hair, and it still looks weird. The pose is kinda awkward as well. Its kinda hard to tell that you are facing her back. What do you think?Related content

hair (especially curly hair) seems to be the hard point -- and i sympathize with you. it seems like you're shading her hair with rough pencil marks, which is fine when you look at it far away, but up close it's a bit distracting. i noticed this with britney's drawing too... perhaps you should soften the pencil marks?

I don't think the pose is awkward here, and I think the hair looks awesome, I could never do that much detail with any kind of precision.

and I dont see anything wrong.. the pose... the direction she's facing... everything is just.... *sigh* ... so perfect...
and the hair is great... nothing wrong with it
I dont know exactly what you're aiming for.... but be it technique... capturization... everything... you've got it right down

That's a very nice drawing and the subject is instantly recognizable. The textures of the hair and the facial features are very interesting.
(One thing you might want to be aware of: It's probably a good idea to list any photoreferences you used and credit them if you can. Unless you are lucky enough to have Nicole Kidman sit for you. *grin*)

The detail in the face is sooooo good!
And I can say her head was turned... but it is her back which seems to be weird to me, is it curved?? I mean, before the first line of hair on her back, there are curves lines, do they belong to her back??

the hair looks fine to me. , i don't think it's too detailed, i just think it needs to be softened a bit. in some areas. and i also think the eyebrows are great...nevermind that last comment. i'm just weird like that.

Wow, great job. It looks just like her! Excellent detail, especially on the hair. It takes me forever, too, although my main problem area is usually the nose. How long did you spend on it? A very lifelike expression, too, which is always difficult. Exceptional work.

This is wonderful, I knew who it was, as well, from the tiny thumbnail. I had no problems determining her pose. And I love her hair. Such attention to that fine detail.
