Anyone can ape a photograph. There is little challenge there. Try drawing other things and always try to draw from life if you can. It will make a huge difference in making your results more consistent. And yes, your drawing skills (pencil handling and shading/controlling of tone is good, but you still could learn a lot. Proportions are hit and miss. Drawing other things will help broaden your range as well. If this sort of critique makes you angry then you have my sympathy!

Don't sweat it...your ability to copy a photo is extremely accurate and precise. But there is so much more to art in general and of course, specifically drawing that is a lot of fun to do and can be quite enlightening when you give it a try. Precision pencil work as you are into now is a narrow section of art which appeals to the public's sense of awe ( It's the old....WOW look at all the little details! AWESOME AND IT MUST HAVE TAKEN YOU AGES TO DO! You know, that sort of thing.) and to the client's vanity. I know because I did, and was asked to do that sort of art many years ago (when I was in college in the early 1980's). Nothing wrong with it but believe it or not you'll likely get bored with it as time goes by. Also too, if you want to be employed at a studio some day full time just being able to do that type of art alone will not land you a position.
You as an artist need to branch out and explore other things. What you do now is useful to you now perhaps, but I can see with your ability to assess proportion accurately you could develop a good career once you explore some of art's other aspects!

Wow, so pretty...love the eyes (as usual, you're amazing with eyes) but the hair has to be my fave part, blonde hair is not easy and you did it so great!
Her lips also look amazing, I'm amazed

You've done such a beautiful job, Anne! The eyes look so real, and the hair and lips also. I would agree that the eye are a bit uneven, but I didn't find it detracted from the picture very much. Keep up the amazing work!
