You look like a friend of mine! She also had blue hair years ago. She has the same nose, the same wonderful blue eyes and the shape of your head is similar to her's.
Fantastic shot!

Thank you very much. Sita deserves the credit for this one - I just provided the blue eyes and the blue hair. She did the rest.

This so deserves a +fav from me. It truly does; aesthetically- and it's not fair that I plan not to.
There's the appreciation of the aesthetics- the perfect shade of blue, and the perfect combination with white. There's the directness of eye-contact, a moment of expression given to the onlooker with meaning indistinct except in each onlooker's mind which nevertheless, seems a positive exchange in my opinion based on your expression. And there's the sheer vividness of each important feature, like a detailed form of minimalism. I mean, I can take these things in, appreciate them...
But the flaw is, and it's a flaw on my part not on yours, the feminism. I don't think it's possible for a face to be more attractive to me, and I would rather respect you as an artist than be drawn into -that- aspect of what I really do consider as close as I've seen to a perfect portrait.
As long as you know that- any chance for answers on a couple of questions I've got about it? For starts- I've gotta ask what hair dye you used! I've tried Manic Panic before, but never been able to come out with such a pure shade. And the other part is how your skin is shown to almost glow in a soft pale. I have extremely faire colored skin, but that goes beyond ordinary and so I'm wondering how that was made possible? Extra exposure or special lighting?
I have no sense of your personality, though this photo makes me think you have a strong sense of self and are self-confident, you look directly at the camera trying to conceal your happiness. I'm thinking you aren't afraid or shy of what the world sets before you, that's what I think, looking at the photo, my personal thoughts. And you have no signs of any negative, it's a very open, non-threatening expression. Side thought: the name 'Kanarime' would suit you well.
Anyway, I just wanted to leave a comment like I feel this deserves, I'll bow out now miss.

I'm sorry this reply has been so long in coming. My only excuse is that I haven't had a clue what to say in response.
In my personal opinion, I see nothing wrong or contradictory in appreciating someone as an attractive human being and appreciating them as an artist, as long as one is aware that the distinction exists and capable of separating the two when looking at an image or a subject. I don't think what you're describing is a flaw at all, or detrimental. As a nude model, I've encountered quite a few people who appreciate my photos for reasons that have more to do with biology than art, and while I do have a problem with people observing both nude and non-nude images of people purely because they find them attractive, I don't think it's an issue as long as the images are appreciated first and foremost for their artistic merits.
To answer your first question:
I have six years of dyeing my hair under my belt; I've been every color of the rainbow, and tried a bunch of different brands. I've found Manic Panic to be of inferior quality, and would strongly advise you against using it. Special Effects hair colors are much, much better.
I'm quite lucky when it comes to hair dye, as my locks take color extremely well. In this picture, my hair had been dyed blue a week previously with Special Effects Blue Mayhem. However, this is not a normal fade color for Blue Mayhem, which is generally a pure, deep cobalt blue fading to pale bluish-purple; I'd spent over a year before this photo was taken building up a blue/green base color so my favorite shades of blue would take and stay better. For this exact color, I would recommend Raw True Blue, although I must warn you that should you choose to dye your hair with this product, everything your head touches for the next week and a half will be blue (and I mean everything - pillowcases, car seats, blankets, pets, the skin on your neck, face, and ears, and parts of friends/significant others have all fallen victim to my freshly colored True Blue head over the years).
and now, for your question about my skin tone:
This photo was not altered or fiddled with in a darkroom. Sita took the photograph with her gorgeous old film camera, scanned it, and sent it to me. The glow of my skin in this photo is due to excellent middle-of-the-day natural lighting, which was precisely directed using a reflector.
I must commend your ability to read and observe photographs. For someone who knows nothing about me, your impressions are very accurate.
Sita has a talent for capturing people's personalities, and this photograph is no exception, although I feel that "When She Smiles" gives more insight into who and what I am. I do, indeed, have a very strong sense of self, am fairly self confident (although I must admit to having my fair share of self-esteem problems and insecurities), and face the world with a good deal of courage and openness.
Thank you very much for your long, thoughtful comment. Your detailed feedback is very much appreciated.
Take good care of yourself. You're welcome in my gallery anytime.

That's perfectly alright, I've had different people react to me a myriad of different ways and taking a bit of time figuring out what to say isn't the worst of them.
*ponders a moment* In theory, art is a subject of personal opinion... On that thought, in theory, connotative content of art (such as attractiveness or how art may remind a person of something else) are actually properties of the art observed uniquely by certain observers. As far as purely art goes, I agree, I don't think there's a problem in making observations inclusive of personal judgements and opinions (that's what art is all about after all- reactions)... but, when it comes to -people- ...that changes things. Connotations can still happen in situations of human interaction, but unless there is a realization they stem from something seperate than the subject at hand, there could be problems. Like- hmm, the necessity to differentiate between outer and inner beauty before trying to integrate the two. I admit, there is some mystery to me in the thought process' of many models regarding what seem to be contradictions of reasoning... my lack of a clear picture would have me understand better, if possible. It's just... for some reason, ironically, a subject quite a few people wrap up in their own conotative thoughts. So sometimes it's hard to understand... I guess the only real way to is to ask, right? Why do you model? -And if there's a distinction, as a nude model as well? I've never actually had a chance to mention it to anyone before- but it seems to me that nude modeling creates a sort of barrier requiring meaningful friendships/interactions to develop with confident and self-secure individuals, whether mature or immature. Like prodding at trying to make it more difficult to form opinions from people that can separate the art from the person, basically...
^_^' Regarding hair-dye, I'm amateur at best. I have tried it a few times, mainly in preparation for anime conventions... (I'm a geek, yes. ) So some of that- still over my head. I mean, I can conceptualize building up a color-base over time, but I don't actually know the details of how- and I probably won't have any good chances to try it (in the world of employment). Although, next time my hair switches colors (probably the end of Summer, it's usually natural shade)- I'll look into Special Effects. With your veteran status in this- ...I've found some confusion regarding the best length of time to wait as far as washing the hair. I've heard that not washing it for a while helps build up a good oily base to hold the dye, but then, I've heard that washing hair that's been dyed while dirty washes a lot of the dye out along with the grime- and I'm trying to figure out what's likely to be best to hold the dye in longest? Err- and... funny story regarding turning things blue. XD The first time I tried dying my hair... I ended up looking like a smurf for a couple days afterwards. XD When I showered the dye ran down and kindof... left me tinged. X)
'Truly fair lady' jokes aside, naturally capturing a seemingly porcelain-like glow is commendable. I thank you for your kind words in saying I can read a photograph well. Perhaps I can? I have so little knowlege about the finer details of photography, though- what I have to say is intuitive, not based on knowledge or experience. I'll need to take a look at 'When She Smiles' and give my thoughts to that one, also. Be cautioned, though art has some moments of importance to me, it tends to be people and in particular those that can be counted friends that mean the more to me... so if I'm to be welcomed I won't be making comments fully from the perspective of an artist, but rather - me, as I am. Which kindof means to say, it's nice to make your aquaintance. I'm Shawn. Though I don't know about you, if your personality is like what it seems and you say, I think you're most likely a very likeable person. May -that- help grant you the very life you want.
