Assam is a mystery Lana can't figure out. The very first day she started looking for Pokemon in the Wild Area, this Pokemon appears as if it was meant to be. They seemed to discuss something with Lancer out of her earshot before the teacup willingly joined her without a fight. She'd never seen Lancer pair up with another Pokemon so readily before -- perhaps it's just Ascended banding together? Whatever the reason, Lana won't turn down the help!

But how did they get Ascended to begin with? Surely Assam wasn't in Union City in the cure chaos... were they? Which came first -- the Wild Area or the Ascention?

Docile Nature, Highly Persistent, and (RP-wise) has the Cursed Body ability.
Unlike Lancer, Lana cannot understand what Assam says (meaning that the auto-translate is exclusive to her good bee). Assam can empathically broadcast emotional impressions, however, which lets Lana get a pretty good picture even without outside translation.
Assam can and will replace your drinking glass with themselves when you're not looking. Even if you're trying to get a glass to drink out of off the shelf, they will somehow be the glass you grab.
Ironically, their Ascended nature has apparently reversed the typical Sinistea trait of /stealing/ energy, so drinking from the cup actually /restores/ energy. However, the 'tea' still tastes VERY bad (in a medicinal/herbal way).
They /will/ slap you in the face with tea if you displease them. Manhandle the teacup? Tea to the face. Grab the wing too tightly? Tea to the face. Stir the 'tea' too much? You get the idea.
This teacup does /not/ like combat. Clearly, they are meant for a support role.
