wowowow. I'm not trying to be offensive against you or anyone, so I hope you won't take any offense.

But I personally think you're breaking balls over such a small problem, actually majority of basemakers credit the site the original picture is on (e.g. Zerochan or any other art site of choice.)

I do understand that you think the original artist should have the credits, yes, I respect your opinion but I think it sounds really 'attacking' against the base artist. He/She doesn't know about your tracking programs, I think; I don't know though, could be.

I respect you, but you should bring it a bit nicer next time, negative comments on your message board can ruin someone's day.

Not offensive to state your opinion- and you stated it very respectfully- thank you

It's not a small problem to artists. People who trace are plagiarizing- something you get kicked out of school for (art school included). Deviantart, for some reason, allows plagiarizing as long as the original artist is credited. This person did not even credit the original artist. Zerochan is NOT the original picture. It is a site that allows people to post art from other sources- an therefore is not the artist or original. I linked to the original artist in my comment- which took me no time at all to find. I gave this tracer easy steps to do so in the future to avoid people like me "breaking balls" about it in the future.

I will give respect to people who are respectful. It is NOT respectful to steal someone's art and trace over it so that other people may trace it in turn. Most artist do not even want their art posted to Zerochan or anywhere else except their own gallery. It is their intellectual property (law) and they should have a say over how it is proliferated. On top of that- art is very personal. It took hard work and imagination. It took a lot of practice to get to the level the artist is at. So having that sense of emotional connection to one's work makes it sad to see people ripping off their hard work without so much as a proper credit (let alone asking for permission!). So I respect you for expressing your opinion nicely, but I am in complete disagreement. I'm sure my little spiel has not changed your mind, but hopefully you can now see how tracing is not acceptable by any means in my, the artists, and any credible school's eyes.

Ah actually, your speech changed a bit of my mind. I haven't looked at it that way, yet. Thanks for the new vision though.

Excuse me for the whole 'breaking balls', it was a bad translation from an italian word I use daily, so probably you didn't get it.

I'm glad to hear we could exchange ideas without fighting- which usually happens on DA. And I'm sorry for harping on the phrase, I tend to forget that it can be difficult to get the right tone across when translating.
