As the quiet settled in again, Xen felt the exhaustion of the day ebb away at the little energy he had left. His sides had been aching all day in an itchy sort of sting, he definitely broke something. And judging by where his skeleton sat and the difficulty of breath, it was definitely a few of his ribs.

Other than that he had bruises here and there and a few scratches. His left arm wasn’t feeling the greatest, neither was the space just beneath his left eye. And with these calculations he changed the pattern of his breath. Now slow and steady as his eyes combed over Ada’s form as a way to distract himself.

Waist up she was covered in bandages, a collection wrapping the entirety of her torso while others were placed only where they were needed such as her arms and face. He was sure her legs weren’t in good condition either as they had been completely smashed beneath slabs of concrete.

Wai was busy carefully tucking the little Mew into Ada’s arms, sitting down on the floor and laying her head on the bed. With a brush of her hand through the air a blanket was pulled over Ada’s form tucking her in.

Wai then relaxed herself, she had spent some long hours making sure Ada stayed alive, and was finally granted the chance to rest. Xen couldn’t help but feel an ache accumulate in his chest, of course this wasn’t any sort of pain that was caused by injury.

Even as he looked over all of them, a swell of guilt churned inside his chest. It caused his stomach to plummet as he replayed the scene over and over again.

He was the one to hurt Ada. He was the reason the ceiling collapsed, not the humans, nor the other Pokémon. His shoulders sagged as he looked away towards the door.

Lucario appeared to be asleep, and if he was quiet perhaps he could even sneak past Wai. So with the utmost caution Xen opened the door and stepped outside. But even as quiet as he was the click of the door stirred two pairs of eyes to open.
