I suppose that you can say that extreme Sorrow can be linked to Pain. But, I have a seperate "bird" for Pain: [link]

Brilliantly simple and powerful. I see the northern lights in this one, and a great sense of spirit. Congrats on a well deserved dd.

Wow, with all the comments I've received, I have not had a mention on the Northern Lights. I live in Alaska and see them often, and now when I look closely at my piece, I can see it too! Excellent observation!

First thing that popped into my head. I see them here too and have always been fascinated and profoundly moved by them. Great to see someone capture such a wonder so well...even unintentionally!
I also have to thank you for taking the time to visit my gallery and even give me a fav, with the tons of mail I'm sure this has generated. Such consideration is rare and greatly appreciated. Keep up the fantastic art!

Thank you! Yes, my goal is to try to thank most everyone who took the time to look at my work yesterday. I don't get a lot of attention most of the time, and I always make time to thank people for the comments they leave on a regular basis...So being that this is a special event, I'm still very appreciative of the attention and am thankful!

very fluid, and the colors a amazing. I love the bird's eye and the contrast of the light bird on the dark background. Well, dark-ish. I wouldn't have labeled it Sorrow, how ever, "Innocence," or "Hope" but not sorrow.

each of the birds in this series are wonderfully rendered, but I like the emotion in this one best. Fear is wonderful too! that eye, those wings--it's a little ivory sear of sadness. brilliant.

I could really relate to this today. I just sent my son to full time day care and it's like ripping your heart out and letting other people hold it. Bah! Your piece is very moving. Beautiful.

Aw, I don't know what that must feel like (I'm not a mother) but I know the house must be quiet and sad when he's not around. Thank you for commenting on my work.

The soft, cool colors portray the theme flawlessly. It really does make me sad when I look at it. It's lovely to say the least.
