As Yorktown and Hornet were both sunk in 1942, Enterprise was the only carrier of that class which was still around when F4U Corsairs were deployed.

The framing and the minute details definitely solidify the piece all together but the perspective really reminds me of Ace Combat Assault Horizon; not that it's a bad thing, because it's a perspective detached enough to see the gritty details and close enough to feel the action.

It certainly conveys the frantic nature of the scene.

There's a Corsair on the Deck , so I'll say the Japanese Plane

Well i suppose if you squint that one in front of the F4U could be a B5N2... but it looks like a A6M or maybe a Ki-61 to me

No, the Japanese plane that dropped the Torpedo clearly has a rear-firing machine gun. Therefore it cannot be a single-seat A6M or K1-61. It is a B6N or B5N.

Ok I thought that was outgoing mail from the instead of incoming. so yeah i suppose it could be a B5/6N

I like the angle its at, almost like it's from a torpedo's point of view as it's being dropped.
