Varian in a 14/15 year old original character who live in the Old Corona (the old capital) in the animated Tangled series involving Rapunzel after she is reunited with her parents in the Kingdom of Corona. Varian is a young prodigy who loves science, his preferred scientific field is alchemy (alchemy is considered a form of science in the Tangled universe). He gets mistaken for a wizard even though he is strictly into science and seems to not believe in magic (and does not care for when people think the amazing things he can do/make is because of magic rather than his own smarts/skill)
He is my favorite character in the Tangled cartoon, the time period is not clear, but it is some where in the past (like I am guessing any where between 16th and 18th century Germany) and he is a commoner (though his dad seems to have some kind or leadership or authoritative role in the village he lives in) so his he dresses in peasant clothes, but is also an alchemist/chemist so he wears an apron, heavy gloves, and goggles.Β
