ahh yes I use 's way here is what she said:
There's different ways of doing it. Some boil the whole thing on the stove, some start it in cold water and let it heat up with the water. Myself, I microwave the water in a tall measuring cup and take it out when it begins to boil. Then I hold onto the figure and immerse the Sculpey additions into the water, and hold it there for like a minute, then take it out, let it cool slightly, then dunk him again, then repeat the process. I dip him a total of three times, then let him cool completely on the counter. When he's no longer hot, I re-boil the water and repeat the three times thing over again. It usually sets after that first go around, but I do the second dunking to make sure, since if not properly set, the Sculpey gets crumbly and bendy and breaks off easier. Curing it again seems to make it good and hard and set.
just make sure if you're modding a figure like this that you make sure that the Scupley is really well on there, since if not it floats right off when the water gets inbetween the figure and the clay (learned that via my test Simba XD). scoring the areas the clay will go on with a razor blade (lightly, no need to make deep scores) helps the clay to adhere to the figure and helps alleviate those air pockets. This isnβt a problem when baking a figure, but it sure is when you boil it. WATER LIKES TO BE A CREEPER AND GROPE THE AREAS BETWEEN. XD
and dont be sorry for asking. at least you have someone to ask directly -- i had to go on what other people posted and make it up for myself, since no one would answer me XD I certainly don't mind helping other people, so ask away on anything, and if im able, i can answer you from experience. ^^

wow, thank you! Did she say why to boil instead of bake the models, since boiling creates a problem with water getting between the clay and the model?Β
