One Icelandic horse I used to ride was like that. He used to freak out and step like mad, but if you insisted he'd end up doing humongus frog leaps over the puddles instead. To avoid the leaping crocodiles he was certain lived in them I suppose. -.-

This is based on two horses I've ridden. One is like you ddescribed. He could just stop and not budge for anything. More or less falling asleep on the spot. The other was notoriously afraid of water puddles, acting like they were shark infested holes of death. XD

I worked with each motion separately. First the leg, then the eye, then lips and so on. Afterwards I combined them. So all motions can be changed, removed or repeated as pleased without interfering with each other.

I really really enjoy making animations! Now that I've got photoshop I'm able to do more elaborate work, instead of just put together pictures from paint.

Photoshop 2. It's offered as a free download perfecly legal at adobe's homepage.
