After sleeping in the cold tundra the night before, Moji and Lyrin were both nearly devastated when they stepped over the horizon and saw the lush red fields that lay in front of them now. It was a strange sight but a welcome one and a beautiful one. Moji's tail began wagging at the sight and she shook the snow flakes from her fur. "If only we had gone a little further," Lyrin said to her toko, patting her thick mane, "Then we could have slept in this nice place not in a pile of snow." She laughed when she finished and Moji bucked her head as if in agreeance. Neither one could really hold a grudge though, they had spent plenty of nights in the cold, one more was hardly a burden, and to come to this piece of beautiful land in the morning was a welcome surprise.

As the two continued ambling through the fields they looked around in exploration more than in the want to complete the task at hand. The clouds overhead began to clear away and the sun showed brightly down on the strange field. Just then, Moji spotted a little creature among the red brush and approached it cautiously. It wasn't that she was scared of it, but rather scared of scaring it away. She liked new little things and she wanted a good look at whatever the creature was that they had stumbled upon. As they neared the little bird the clanking of beads on her tack alerted the creature of Moji's approach. It looked up at her but Moji shrank down in attempt to be less intimidating. The bird seemed to know that the massive creature didn't intend to hurt it though and Moji got her nose right up to the little bird, sniffing in excitement. It was a strange creature with a tuft on its head and a pink colored head that blended into the field. The timid brown toko wagged her tail at the little thing that was like nothing she had seen before. She seemed to be growing a little bolder and a little more curious, Lyrin was glad to see her little girl growing out of her shell.
