The past few days I have spent alot of time sketching out ideas of gowns for Vanessa(Ursula) from The Little Mermaid. I was trying to make a "Princess" gown that she could wear in the context of the movie but then I decided to play around with some more 'fashionista' concepts.I obviously was HEAVILY inspired by the 'Designer Collection' from the Disney Store and yes I did use the same background. I love that the gowns for the Princess line were based on retro 50's fashion, while the Villain Gowns were based on modern high fashion. A perfect contrast!
For this gown I wanted it to be sexy and dramatic. I kept some details from the actual dress Vanessa wears in the movie, and then made it more form fitting and added the poofy tule trane.
Also I think that if you are going to make Ursula skinny you might as well show her in her sexy human form.
I know that this is not a completely original, but I hope you like it!

I love it! I like that you went with the purple coloring to match Ursala, and the way it waves down reminds me a bit of Ursala's tentacles!

That train is gorgeous! Reminiscent of the skirts on Dior ball gowns. How lovely with a sleak black body. I'm excited for these dolls too- I would love to see a Vanessa in the line, as well as Medusa!

Very sleek, very well done and rather sexy indeed. I esecially like the touches of realism on the face, showing us that she makes herself up to make herself look good. The dress itself is a nice fusion between what she wears in the film and your own touches to get a slightly more flattering effect. Really pretty.
