Description
So my mental game for quite some time with hands is "Look at them and study them, then draw without looking at them at all". Tricky as hell at first because hands almost seem to transform or mold to help you express and compliment both your external and internal emotions. Once looking at them though for a certain amount of time and thinking of them as simple or basic shapes, you start to realize the how and why's of the hands.Studying the under structure of the hands will help make things even that much simpler. So I would say pick up an anatomy book to delve a little deeper into why things are the way they are.
So the test is>
first: spend 5 to 10 min analyzing
second: Draw what you saw!

If yah want more of this stuff from me and anatomy ref hit me up through meh note. Thanks

Nice. I think feet are also the other big challenge to artists as well.

I would love to have more refs from you. I would hit you up in a note but my notes function on DA sucks. It takes about 10 minutes to write a three sentence note.

Thanks dude. Yeah these are from memory. After a while of testing your brain to this, it become much much easier to figure out what the hand does when in whatever position.
Yeah..I've got a good amount of notes from fellow deviants saying they want more of this sort of thing too.. so I'll make sure do more. Bridgmen and Loomis are awesome but there are a few more that I think can help in the learning the human anatomy.

Hands are so nice to draw
I really dig the hand anatomy here, and your method of spending 5-10min analysin before drawing is actually a really good idea.
I will keep a note to try that too.

this just goes to show everybody how much knowledge of real anatomy is needed before you successfully draw cartoons.
