Through the years I've seen pictures like this by other artist so I decided on doing my own of Spidey and Venom. I always felt that Venom is the Ultimate Villain of Spider-Man because of his every night and day wanting to rid him. It mainly has to do with a tragic past that Eddie Brock suffers that he either blames on Parker or someone related to Parker. The other reason is the living alien symbiote that Parker parted himself with that has endless hatred for him. So those two combined are willing to spend 24/7 trying to kick the ass of Mr. Friendly Neighborhood Spider. Damn! Life gotta suck for Pete.Tools> 2b pencil, Ps, Optical Mousypookeez

It's almost like you depicted the mutual hatred they have for each other. It's funny how expressive Spidey's mask is.

You should set this as a downloadable, or at least make it viewable in a larger size. I'd love to have it as a background. I rarely, actually never use this sentence, but this illustration is fucking radical. lol I love what you did with spider-man's eyes, and the material of his suit. You made it a "real" clothy suit! Lots of people don't do that with their spiderman illustrations/drawings, which is why I adore Alex Ross's Spider-man so much. Well, I love all of his other renditions of famous characters too, just cause of how human and real he makes them. I also love all of the color choices with venom, how all of him is tinted with a slight yellow, and then you have the complementary color purple as his background color. To me its said supreme evil/mysteriousness. Did you do that on purpose or was it an accident? All in all it's a beautiful piece friend.

If you think about it, why does Peter need to swing around the city in very tight pajamas when he could be home with MJ?
Especially if she's built the way Adam Hughes draws her.
(Plus, on top of that he dumped Felicia, aka the Black Cat, who is always drawn stacked too).
Eddie/Venom got a new lease on life when they met and instead of taking advantage of their new situation they became the obsessive compulsive emo that can throw cars through storefronts.

Not to mention, Venom's essentially the antithesis to spidey. He's even the first villain to be able to sneak up on him without activating his spider senses.

Great pic, but I have to disagree with you on this one. The ultimate nemisis that has plagued Spider-Man is undoubtedly the Green Goblin, to be more precise, Norman Osborn. No supervillain, no newspaper publisher with a grudge, and no cosmic entity has done more harm to Peter Parker than Norman Osborn. If there is true evil in the Marvel Universe, look no further than Norman. Let's give breif review of Norman's carerr, shall we? Prior to becoming the GG, had a hand in the creation of supervillains to plauge superheroes inorder to keep them from turning their gazes into political and buisness corruption after the end of World War II as a memeber of the Buisnessmen's Secret Cabal (BSC to keep it simple and also explaining why supervillains seem to pop up soely in one heroes life).
After becoming the Green Goblin and multiple battles against Spider-Man, learned of the webheads true identity and attempted to "mind rape" him into being his succesor, had a hand in killing Gwen Stacy. In hiding after his supposed death after the instance before hand, continued to ocrastrate the mechinations of Mendel Stromm aka the Jackel into creating clones of Spider-Man. Made Peter believe himself the clone and Ben Reily the actual Peter Parker. Made him think his Aunt May died. Probably killed Peter's newborn daugther, killed Ben Reily. Played psycholigical games with Peter in an attempt to get him to finally break and kill him.

Eddie Brock and the Symboit themsevles are still great characters that have really been ruined from over exposure. What I like about Venom is the scorned lover angle of the Symboit's personality. All the creature desired (after countless retcon's) was a companion and form a lasting bond with it's host instead of draining them of energy like others of its species. In a panic after learning his suit was alive, Peter tried to kill it but it still saved Peter from brain damage or worse and then found itself bonded with the quite insane sociopath Eddie Brock which possible drove it even more mad than before and most likely kept poking at Brock's bitterness towards Spidey the whole time in an attempt to feed of the adrenileine and gain it's own revenge.
Brock is just....well he's nuts to say the least. His reasons for hating spidey sum up to "I got cuaght breaking the law and doing crappy Journalism because Spider-Man nab the rea bad guy and got fired boo-hoo-hoo" and a raging level of sociopathic tendancies and an inferiorty complexe the size of Idaho all of which were most likly compounded by the Symboite's manipulations and his rapidly deteriating rationality.
